Manager, Affiliate Finance

Basic Function

Manages a team of Affiliate Finance Specialists who, as part of a cross-functional Affiliate Resource Team, consult with and support Komen for the Cure Affiliates with varying degrees of organizational complexity and whose responsibilities include ensuring that financial activities comply with GAAP and IRS guidelines, collaborating with Resource Team to develop and implement Affiliate support plans, creating training and communication initiatives, and providing varying strategic analyses. Also oversees the review of Affiliate collateral for financial and tax compliance, identifying potential issues and/or requirements to ensure accuracy and appropriate follow-through. Guides daily activity and ensures integration of financial management as a core part of the cross-functional Affiliate Resource Teams. Works closely with cross-functional department managers while overseeing day-to-day department issues, Affiliate communication and training, year-end reporting, and monthly close process.

Position Qualifications

BS/BA in Accounting or equivalent thereof and 3-5 years of experience in accounting. Requires a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Solid experience with spreadsheets at the advanced user level. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required in this position, with the ability to clearly convey and explain financial data to individuals and groups at varying levels of financial knowledge. Requires previous supervisory experience and travel up to 20% (may include weekends).CPA or CPA candidate preferred, with experience in a not-for-profit environment considered valuable. Working knowledge of QuickBooks considered a plus. 7+ years of experience preferred.Microsoft Office Suite (with strong spreadsheet skills).
