Komen recognizes that no single approach to breast health will prove effective around the world and, therefore, works with local communities and organizations to develop innovative programs that best meet the needs of a particular group or culture. Read more about our global initiatives.

Funding Temporarily Suspended

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is currently assessing its international grants in the areas of travel scholarships, conference sponsorships, and education-related programs. During this assessment period, Komen for the Cure has suspended funding grants in these areas.

  • National Cancer Institute: a list of cancer information services available at www.cancer.gov, or may be requested by writing to the NCI Public Inquiries Office, Cancer Information Service Branch, Room 3036A, 6116 Executive Boulevard, MSC 8322, Bethesda, MD 20892-8322, USA.
  • The International Union Against Cancer (UICC): The UICC consists of international cancer-related organizations devoted to the worldwide fight against cancer. UICC membership includes research facilities and treatment centers, and in some countries, ministries of health. Other members include volunteer cancer leagues, associations and societies. These organizations serve as resources for the public. Komen for the Cure will continue to award research grants through its Award and Research Grants program, Focused Areas of Research, Fellowships and Leverage Relationship/Team Sciences program, as well as providing community outreach program grants through its network of Affiliates.
