American Airlines’ “Miles for the Cure” Campaign Raises More Than $600,000 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure®
Over 6,500 AAdvantage® Members Donate Funds, Earn Miles - and the Campaign Continues
DALLAS – June 26, 2008 – Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, the world’s largest breast cancer organization, has received more than $600,000 in donations from American Airlines’ Miles for the Cure campaign. Through Miles for the Cure, a special fundraising campaign created by American Airlines, members of its AAdvantage® Travel Awards program earned five miles for each dollar contributed to Susan G. Komen for the Cure with a minimum $25 donation.
More than 6,500 AAdvantage members participated in the campaign, which ran April 16 through May 31. Donations were made online by visiting www.aa.com/komen.

Miles for the Cure to continue
Based on the tremendous success of the program, American Airlines announced that it will continue Miles for the Cure until $1 million is raised for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

More than 20 years of support
American Airlines has supported Susan G. Komen for the Cure for more than 20 years as a national sponsor of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Series, as well as being the official carrier for Race for the Cure events. This fall will mark the 14th year that American has hosted the American Airlines Annual Golf and Tennis weekend fundraiser to benefit Komen for the Cure. In addition, hundreds of American employees, their friends and families participate in Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure events across the nation.
