Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer
On Mother's Day, May 11, Major League Baseball joined with Susan G. Komen for the Cure® in the fight to end breast cancer forever. Their support helped celebrate and honor breast cancer survivors across the country.
During games played on Mother's Day, Major League teams featured special pink bats, provided by Louisville Slugger®. The breast cancer awareness theme was carried throughout the game, including pink ribbon logos on the bases, uniform patches, special pink wrist bands, commemorative home plates, special pink merchandise and pink dugout lineup cards. There was also designated fan “Pinked Out Zones” at designated stadiums to celebrate this special day of awareness.

Commemorative home plates & pink bats
Team-autographed commemorative home plates & pink bats from each ballpark were auctioned off on MLB.com following Mother’s Day with proceeds to raise additional funds for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. You can learn more about the commemorative pink bats at MLB.com or slugger.com.
