Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Appoints Former Nine West Group President Brenda Lauderback to Board of Directors
DALLAS — July 17, 2008 — Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, global leader in the breast cancer movement, has appointed Brenda Lauderback, former group president of wholesale and retail at Nine West Group, to its board of directors. Lauderback is a breast cancer survivor and will serve on Komen for the Cure’s board for two years.

An accomplished leader, Lauderback is skilled at instituting highly disciplined planning and product-development processes that enable faster implementation. She also has distinguished herself in formulating merchandising and pricing strategies that capitalize on the economic, competitive and consumer factors driving targeted product segments to maximize sales, share and operating income. During her career, she demonstrated marked success in upgrading the quality and cost-effectiveness of domestic and overseas sourcing programs and was instrumental in re-engineering headquarters and field organizations in the wake of mergers, acquisitions and other major corporate initiatives. |

Lauderback currently serves as a corporate director for the boards of Irwin Financial Corporation, Big Lots Corporation, Select Comfort, Denny’s Corporation and Wolverine World Wide. She is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the Career Women of Achievement Award from the YMCA of Cincinnati and Bragg Award for Outstanding Achievement from the Black Retail Action Group. Lauderback is active with community service organizations Jack & Jill of America Foundation and The Links, Inc.
A Dallas resident, she received her Bachelor of Science in marketing from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh.
Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s board of directors functions to advise, assist and aid in the organization’s efforts to support breast cancer research and community health initiatives, including education, screening and treatment programs. The board is chaired by the Honorable Kenneth E. Bentsen, Jr., and includes Norman Brinker, Linda Custard, Aimee DiCicco Cheryl Jernigan, Clifton Leaf, Connie O’Neill and Robert Taylor.
