Major League Baseball
Susan G. Komen for the Cure and Major League Baseball’s Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer helps your home team hit one out of the ballpark. Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer is a month long program to further awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection, while also raising funds to support the mission of Komen for the Cure. Fans will be able to log onto www.komen.org/mlb and make a monetary donation to join MLB and support the breast cancer movement. Additionally, Pink Merchandise, specially designed for Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer, furthers the commitment to Komen and is available on-line and at ballparks nationwide.
To show their support of Going to Bat for Breast Cancer, Major League Baseball Players will wear pink wristbands and the pink ribbon decals will be provided to all the players, coaches and umpires to wear on Mother’s Day. The pink ribbon will also appear on all the bases and on a commemorative home plate at each ballpark and the official dugout lineup cards will be pink. Pink bats will also be provided to the players for use during the Mother’s Day games and will be collected for auction on MLB.com.
Look for the fan “Pink Zones” at all home games on Mothers Day on May 11th. Major League Baseball Charities commits a guaranteed $50,000 to Komen for the Cure with Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer. For more information, visit www.mlb.com.
